MOAB

So only a few weekends ago, Kase and I went to Moab with Garyn and Jill.
We had planned on staying two nights but sadly the wind was so horrible, and we were so miserable we all just went home early. Regardless, we had a fabulous time and lots of good experiences.

This was like one of the coolest arches we hiked up to look at. We took our hike a little farther and because it was so windy we turned around.
The wind was HORRIBLE and we all had a layer of dust and dirt layered on. and the wind was so fast it felt like a thousand needles being stabbed at once... no fun at all. We were actually afraid the wind would blow us over the cliffs when we walked across them.

Boys will be boys.

This picture you can see a little bit of the red dust in the background.

So Snakes... I hate snakes and this one here was like 6 feet and cool looking but it still did not put me at ease...

Besides the relentless tent blowing, the wind and overturned tent and all the sand, it was a pretty fun trip with some really awesome people!

Nope, not pregnant

Please excuse the title, but for some reason I have had a lot of people as me if I was pregnant lately... and first off, am I really getting that much heavier? because I have been running almost everyday and working my tail end off to get back into shape, and second... when does making a blanket mean I am pregnant?
So the lady I visit teach is having a sweet little girl soon and I don't think she has gotten to know people in our ward so I decided to make her a baby blanket.

The whole process was sort of fun for me but mainly that is because I had time to myself to enjoy the fabric store. Plus I found the exact amount of fabric I needed in the leftover stack so the soft stuff was half off! This is huge... no joke especially for 20 dollar fabric.

Here is the finished project ...

I thought it was snuggly, I hope she does... plus it was an excuse to use my sewing machine which is always a plus for me... I like sewing.
Voila... all done.
BTW she loved it and so did her husband... he liked that one side was blue, and she liked the pink and said its the one pink thing she will have since her husband refuses to have pink anywhere in his house but he did say that this was an exception!
See so its not me who is pregnant but a friend ... gosh but seriously, if I have gained that much weight please kindly tell me... however I don't think I have!

Somebody is gettin married!

So a while back me and my mister went on a double date with Niel and Caitlin. On our fun outing with our cousin/friends we went and had a scavenger hunt at Cabela's, or as Kasey's dad refers to it, the Lehi temple.
Our scavenger list included crazy things such as an obscured colored gun

And even a Squirrel

WE went and looked at the mini aquarium filled with tons of fish that can be found in the lakes in Utah, and this one fish WOULD NOT stop following Caitlin around, it was so funny because it kept staring at her.

We also had a little bit of fun with one of the mannequins who obviously was supposed to be holding something... so my arm it was, that way it could look at my ring!

We had a BLAST with these two, but more importantly...
THEY ARE GETTING MARRIED!
Niel is Kasey's cousin and we are so excited for him and his fiance Caitlin... it is official.
Kasey also made Chorizo? last week, and some sauce called Ahi...
He was super stoked and it was pretty cute. I was just glad that I was not the one cooking.
And yes... that is cilantro in his teeth.

Spring has Sprung

So life continues to get busier and we also continue to get busier.
We decided to spice out the outside of our humble abode, or our house, so for the past several weeks we have done a ton of yard work. Especially my man Kase.
So the last week that we had put tons of work into our yard, we made sure to get some supplies for a flower bed.

I love all of the flowers, I was so excited to plant them... but Kasey reminded me that there were things we had to do first before we could plant the flowers.
The list included digging up tons and tons of rocks... with trick nasty bugs underneath...
tilling and adding soil to the flower beds, picking weeds, picking weeds... and picking more weeds.
I think when Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden, and God said that they would be working all the days of their life, I think he meant picking weeds. I just want weeds to disappear, they suck!
But besides the lawn and flower bed work, we have put some work into fixing the tree in our front yard.

Here is my goof, watering the lawn and grass seed!
I wish I had taken a picture of our pitiful tree but I may save that for a later date. It actually has the small pink flowers that look like mini roses.
And the final product, it is not Jana's garden but it is literally WAY better than the before.

Such a "sweet" surprise

So I came home the other day and went through my normal sit on the couch and finally take a break routine, and Kasey came in from watering the lawn and goes... "I have a surprise for you". When he said this I was a little hesitant to be honest, and that is partially because of the poop eatin' grin he carried on his face. But he did surprise me with these yummy treats.

A total of 6 chocolate covered strawberries, and I ate every single one of them!
I will not like but I was in some sort of heaven...

Thanks Kase!

All the times day

So my sister used to call valentines day "all the times day", and I thought the title was appropriate
1. Because Valentines day was two days ago
2. and because this post expresses what we fools have been up to lately

So if it was not already noted...
I CUT OFF AROUND 12 INCHES OF MY PRECIOUS HAIR!

No one believe that I would do it... especially those in my family who have known me forever. So far I have liked it until I woke up looking like shirley temple... then I didn't like it so much! I already have gotten over it...

I also used an idea from Pinterest (love pinterest) and made beautiful heart shaped cupcakes for Kasey and some friends.

Whoops.. it is sideways. and sorry for all the pics of myself.. I don't have kids!

Our kitchen has been smelling scrumptious and I made crepes for the first time... and it took a while to figure out how to get them to not stick to the pan!
This past week Kasey also knew I was having a rough time... these past two weeks have been awful for me and I have literally only been home to sleep and nothing else! But Kasey was so so sweet and the next morning he got up really early and made me breakfast in bed! Just for the record (and Kasey when you read this don't be offended) Kasey is not the best cook... but he made some really good waffle for me, like really good and he served them to me all fancy like so I had a wonderful breakfast in bed.

We also had the WONDERFUL James and Jessica come over for Fondue... if you were not there you missed out. The Hickson's from my hometown gave us a fondue pot and I am pretty sure we love it.

Surprisingly the angel food cake, strawberries and pretzels were not the favorite... but the bananas and oreos?!

ALL of us were messy, not just James

We had SO uch fun. We love you James and Jessica! Thanks for coming over :)

I happened to also make some delicious enchiladas and guacamole. I was not going to post about this but there is kind of a funny story. So I started to make diner as soon as I got home and on this particular day Kasey came home for an hour and a half before he had to return to class. So dinner was not ready in time for him to eat before he left sadly so as soon as dinner was finished I ate and realized if I put the dish in for a little longer the cheese inside would melt better. Well I forgot about it for 2 hours and most of it was burnt black. Kasey still like the redeemable remnants of it but it was so much better when it was not burnt. So here is my beautiful tex-mex dinner before I ruined it.

So I better actually post about something that happened on Valentines day so here it goes:
My expectations were not super high because first I had to leave at 7 that morning and I knew Kasey had class so I was not going to see him until 10 at night. So when I got home, I actually was surprised to find a trail of rose petals leading me to a small bouquet of my fav hot pink roses and some candy. I then proceded to try and hand out visiting teaching assignments by walking to each individuals house who had not received theirs, and dropping it off. (Do not have a car) So after four houses of disappointment... I decided I will only give them out on Sunday because I have about 45 assignments and 4 took an hour to hand out and some people deliberately ignored me and others said I cannot do it. Sorry to rant on and on about it, if they can't do it they can't but lets just say that I was pretty down trodden and kinda upset about it.
So I made cupcakes for Kasey as said before, and then gave some to a wonderful family in our ward with the cutest little kids ever. Yeah I think they pretty much might be out friends. They make me wish that I had my own kid... but then again, not really.
So Kasey came home and I was so confused, then he proceeded to tell me he had NO class... so life was good and we went to dinner watched UP and had some yum yum frozen yogurt.
We also hung out with another couple in our ward and we had so much fun... we are sad though because they are moving away! Bummer!

So all is well here with the Gulbranson's and even though things are tough we are still having a splendid time! I even am so lucky because I have the darn cutest bracelet made by my darling niece Emma. What could be better than that? Oh I know... looking more mature with my new haircut, that way I don't get a kids stamp like my nieces and nephews at the pool....
